Cyathea Cooperi tree fern

Planted August 2019 in front west garden towards the bottom of the slope. It is shaded by trees above, and most morning sun will be blocked by the westringia.

The plan is that it will grow to be an understory plant and get more sun as it is bigger and more able to cope as this area is moves from being dry bush to dry rainforest. Being close to the bird bath means that it gets regular water.

  • Bought from Coolum Native Nursery at Nambour garden show, August 2019.
  • hardy fast growing tree fern, to 15 metres in height with a 30 cm thick trunk

Alas, not happy there – now lives in a pot near the south east corner of the house.

August 2022 – planted in bed against eastern fence.
