Urban Farming

Urban farming can be anything from growing a tomato in a pot plant on your balcony to a aiming at self-sufficiency. The obvious benefits are fresh food, less obvious benefits include a change of attitude toward food, lots of exercise and fresh air and making new friends with the shared interest. I was among those who lobbied my local councillor about street planting laws and was delighted when the BCC finally came out with their new policy allowing verge gardens in 2016.
