Throughout 2009

26 January to 31 December 2009 - Queensland Stories - People Places Past Present - A reflection on some of the people, events and attitudes that have shaped Queensland since separation 150 years ago. Queensland Museum, Southbank.
1 February to 31 December 2009 - Main Roads' Q150 Bridge-Naming Project - Queenslanders are invited to name local bridges in celebration of Q150.
1 April to 31 December 2009 - Stories of the Redlands - Display includes information about the geological formation of the region, indigenous culture, exploration and mapping, convict activity, early settlement, the development of farming, and more. Daily from 10.00am to 3.30pm at Redland Museum, 60 Smith St, Cleveland.
17 August to 31 December 2010 - Policing Queensland - A collection of objects and images documenting the history of Queensland Police. Admission is free. 9.00am to 4.00pm at the Queensland Police Museum, Ground Floor, 200 Roma St, Brisbane.

October

5 September to 10 October 2009 - Hamilton Hall the Musical - Commissioned for Queensland’s 150th Anniversary celebrations and presented by Front Row Theatre Inc. A comedic interpretation of the history of Hamilton town hall by Brisbane writer Leah Pellinkhof. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for concession. 10 & 11 October 2009 - Q150 October Orchid Bonanza - Hosted by the Bribie Island Orchid Society. Benched orchid displays, a foliage display, floral art display and a guest speaker discussing Natives on Bribie. The event will be held at Bribie Island State High School, First Ave, Bribie Island.
25 October (Sunday) 2009 - God's Acre Historic Cemetery 150 Year Celebration - One of Brisbane's oldest cemeteries. The day will include tours and displays. 9.00am to 2.00pm at God's Acre Cemetery, Beatty Rd, Archerfield Airport.
25 October (Sunday) 2009 - A Classical Celebration for Queensland's 150th Birthday - Featuring Attilla Sautov and his orchestra performing works by Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Paganini, Sarasate, Bohm, Kabalewsky and Strauss. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for concession, $15 for teenagers and free for children under 12. 2.00pm at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Main St, Buderim. 14 November (Saturday) 2009 - Q150 Heritage Festival - Celebrating Qld at The Southport School - There will be tours of Governor Musgrave's residence built in 1878, The Cable Station (1901), Clock Tower Building (1925) and St. Albans Chapel, as well as cadet displays. 10.00am to 4.00pm at The Southport School, Winchester St, Southport.

December

10 December (Thursday) 2009 - Proclamation Day Community Breakfast - Featuring historical displays, food, a recreation of the original Queensland Ensign and an outside radio broadcast. Breakfast is free to the first 150 visitors, gold coin thereafter. 6.00am to 9.00am at Newstead Park, Cnr Breakfast Creek Rd and Newstead Ave, Newstead.
*10 December (Thursday) 2009 - Free Breakfast to Kick Off Proclamation Day - The free barbecue breakfast features a re-enactment played by QUT students. 6.00 am to 7.30 am at Colmslie Recreation Reserve, Lytton Rd, (behind the State Hockey Centre), Morningside (see Q150 for more events celebrating Queensland).
*10 December (Thursday) 2009 - Proclamation Day Commemoration Ceremony - The ceremony will commence with a 21-gun salute from Kangaroo Point Cliffs and will conclude with the afterburner boom from an F-111 flyover. A flag-raising ceremony will be held and following the ceremony there will be free lamingtons for morning tea. 9.00 am to 10.30 am, Royal Palms Lawn, City Botanic Gardens (see Q150 for more events celebrating Queensland).
*10 December (Thursday) 2009 - Proclamation Day Parade to St John's Cathedral - The parade will start at 10.30 am at the City Botanic Gardens and will continue through Alice St, right into George St, right into Adelaide St, left into Queen St, right into Ann St, and to St John's Cathedral at 11.30 am. The vehicles will be accompanied by Queensland Mounted Police, Police Pipes and Drums, and the official party (see Q150 for more events celebrating Queensland).
*10 December (Thursday) 2009 - Proclamation Day Celebration of Thanksgiving - The event commemorates the reading of the Letters Patent from the balcony of Adelaide House, now the Deanery of St John's Cathedral 150 years ago to the day. 11.30 am to 12.45 pm at St John's Cathedral, Ann St, Brisbane (see Q150 for more events celebrating Queensland).
*10 December (Thursday) 2009 - Proclamation Day Youth Parliament - Eighty-nine students from 16 government and non-government schools will tackle topics at the Youth Parliament. 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm at Parliament House, Alice St, Brisbane (see Q150 for more events celebrating Queensland).
*10 December (Thursday) 2009 - Proclamation Day Concert - Featuring Powderfinger, Yves Klein Blue, Custard, and The Middle East.
