  • 1 to 30 September - Oxfam's Exchange for Change - Australian women are invited to host a clothes exchange at any time in September to raise funds for Oxfam Australia. Swap clothes that you no longer wear, love or need to help raise funds to fight global poverty.
     
  • 1 to 8 September 2009 - Adult Learners' Week - Aims to celebrate and promote all forms of adult and lifelong learning with a strong focus on literacy.

  • 3 September (Thursday) 2009 - Australian National Flag Day - The 108th birthday of the Australian Flag. It was first raised on this day in 1901.
     
  • 3 September (Thursday) 2009 - Queensland Connections 2009 - The Makings of a Nutty Business - A free lunchtime talk on the beginnings of the macadamia industry with guest speaker Catherine Chambers of the Cultural Heritage Branch of the Environmental Protection Agency. 12.30pm to 1.15pm at the Queensland Museum, Cnr of Grey and Melbourne Sts, South Bank.
