May 2009 Events in Brisbane and Queensland

• 2 to 4 May 2009 - Brisbane Model Train Show - this annual event is the largest display of Model Railways in Australia, with over 100 exhibitors and trade stalls.  9am onwards, Sheep and Wool Pavilion, RNA Showgrounds, corner of Gregory Terrace and Alexandria Street,  Bowen Hills
   
• 4 May (Monday) 2009 - Labour Day (Public Holiday)
   
• 10 May (Sunday) 2009 - Mother's Day - see BCL Mothers Day Gift Ideas 
  • The Mothers Day Classic - make a real difference to the lives of those diagnosed with breast cancer by simply walking, running or sponsoring a participant, to help raise vital funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
  • Trees for Mum - free national event offers motherless children a way to remember their mum, and celebrate the beauty of life, by planting a tree in her honour. 
     
• 22 & 23 May 2009 - The National Careers and Employment Expo Brisbane at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Expo provides the opportunity for students, graduates, skilled and mature age workers, and those looking for a change, to meet face to face with Australia's leading organisations, government bodies, educational and training providers. Free admission.
