Nundah, Brisbane
Nundah is
8km north-east of the Brisbane CBD, accessible via the busy Sandgate
Road and Nundah and Toombul railway stations on the northern
suburban rail line.
Nundah has good bus services that run towards the city
along Sandgate Road.
Nundah is a mainly residential area
with a mix of older restored colonial era homes and more modern, medium-density
townhouses and units. Many newer high-rise units are being build in the
area.
Nundah Village was once a notorious bottleneck for traffic on Sandgate
Road, bringing traffic down to one lane each way. Since the Nundah
underpass has been built, taking the traffic out of the villiage, Nundah
Village has regenerated into a pleasant and well-resourced shopping
centre with a supermarket, coffee shops and restaurants.
Toombul shopping centre with
cinemas and large department stores is just next door.
