Bulimba, Brisbane 5km East of the Brisbane CBD, Bulimba is a pleasant riverside suburb which presents a mix of older Queenslander-style homes and more modern dwellings. Oxford Street is a major cafe, dining and boutique retail precinct, while Cannon Hill Shopping Plaza offers the closest major retailers. Bulimba has parks and riverside pathways for outdoor recreation, as well as the Balmoral and Hawthorne cinemas for when it rains. A landmark of this inner-city suburb is the Bulimba Army Barracks located along the Hamilton Reach of the Brisbane River.
