Just 5km north of the Brisbane CBD, Albion is home to the harness and greyhound racing track, as well as the historic Breakfast Creek Hotel. Kingsford Smith Drive which starts at Albion and follows the Brisbane River toward Eagle Farm is one of the main road routes to Brisbane Airport. The Brisbane Inner City Bypass runs from Hale Street at Milton to Kingsford Smith Drive at Albion.
Albion Road and the Albion Overpass crosses from Sandgate Road to Lutwyche Road (Gympie Road). Sandgate Road traffic to the city diverts at Albion to Abbotsford Road.
Further to the north at Albion are popular restaurants and cafes along Sandgate Road.
Albion has bus services that run towards the city along Sandgate and Crosby Roads. Albion Railway Station is only 7 minutes from central stations.
Adjoining suburbs include Wooloowin (following Hudson Road or the rail line north) and Clayfield (following Sandgate Road north), Ascot (east along Kingsford Smith Drive). Across Breakfast Creek (south) are Bowen Hills and Newstead, and across the Brisbane River is Bulimba.
