- Just Rights Queensland! Australia
is the only OECD country without a Bill of Rights. Everyday, someone in
Australia finds that they have been deprived of their basic human rights. They
then often find there is no legal recourse available to them to have these
wrongs addressed. Additionally, in the absence of a bill of rights, federal
and state governments are able to make laws and policies that can adversely
affect our rights without being held accountable for this. Just Rights
Queensland was established by Queensland citizens to raise awareness of rights
issues affecting the people in Queensland and to help build a fairer and more
just society. A growing number of organisations support the need for a bill of
rights.

While NSW, Victoria and WA include this in their similar subsidy schemes, Qld Health do not see it as a necessary item. We are currently collating statistics so the number of diabetics who need this monitor in Qld can be established."
